The film is a personal story of a young woman Jitka, concerning a recent period of her life in which she was sick with leukaemia.
We see the first symptoms of the disease, what else went wrong for Jitka at the time and how she was able to deal with it. We learn how the serious condition was diagnosed, meet the doctors and witness the entire therapy process, from chemotherapy to bone marrow transplant.
Additional narrators of Jitka’s story are her friends, her sister and her mother. We get to see how friends and family can help overcoming a disease, what surprising activities they come up with to get Jitka back among "healthy" people again.
Almost as if on live TV, we see how bone marrow donation works, how painless and simple it is compared to the chance it gives to the patient and how difficult finding the right donor is.
Jitka doesn’t take her brush with the serious condition lightly and tries to help in educating the general public and assisting other patients.
This film also serves such education. Both for people, who come into contact with leukaemia and for people who are not aware how much they could help by registering as bone marrow donors.
